Top 5 Bars to Watch Football in Austin

It’s that time of year again where bars are packed with screaming fans and fantasy drafts invade the office as well as social lives. Yes, we’re talking about football season. ScriptiLabs is no stranger to the hysteria that surrounds this season. As avid football fans, we host a fantasy football draft in the office and get together on the weekends to obnoxiously root for our beloved teams (a little friendly competition is a healthy thing, right?) So, with that being said, ScriptiLabs employees made it their mission to find the best bars around town to watch the games at this year.

The Goodnight

If you haven’t been to The Goodnight yet, you’re in for a treat. This place is not only a bar, but a bowling alley, karaoke bar, and billiard room. There are TV’s throughout the entire place, so you can view the game during whichever activity you’re involved in. The Goodnight isn’t your typical Pluckers or Buffalo Wild Wings. It’s a place football fans and those less enthused with the hysteria can both enjoy. They host a TON of specials as well. Enjoy free bowling, ping pong, billiards, karaoke, or shuffle board from 11-4 with a lunch entrée. Similarly, they have $1.00 mimosas and $4.00 bloody mary’s every weekend. And we promise they’re delicious – we had the luxury of tasting them! If you’re looking for a less hectic yet extremely fun atmosphere all can enjoy, come watch the games at The Goodnight.

Here you’ll find delicious salads and sandwiches that knock wings out of the water. They have a great happy hour menu every evening and a massive wine cellar with a variety of options. Enjoy large comfortable seats, a high-end bar, and a professional staff dressed in all black. Every Friday they have a Sno Cone Happy Hour from 4-8pm. This means you can purchase sno cones infused with alcohol for just $3.00. We can’t think of a better way to beat the heat. Along with a ton of TVs and friendly staff, Black Sheep allows you to host your fantasy draft there. They’ll set you up with a reserved area, $2.00 off all pitchers, $3.00 Titos drinks, and 20% off all appetizers. Sounds like a great time to us!

Watching at bars is just half the fun of football games. The real fun comes in the form of tailgating! This Saturday marks the first UT Football game, and we can’t wait to represent in some orange pride. ScriptiLabs is a proud sponsor of Mike’s Tailgate, a fun time dedicated to a cause near and dear to our hearts. So next time you’re content watching the game on your couch, think about some of these fun bars that won’t break the bank! We promise they’ll be worth it.
